2016 MotoGP Schedule Annouced 9/11/2015
The one major change is the the loss of the long standing Red Bull sponsored MotoGP at Indianapolia, now replaced in August by the Red Bull MotoGP in Austria at the Red Bull owned track.. Circuit of the Amerias on April 10th in Austin, Texas, now remains the sole MotoGP in America.

This change was certainly expected with dwindling World Championship road racing attendance numbers in America. Plus Red Bull would certainly like to use that Indy MotoGP sponsorship money to host their own MotoGP at their Red Bull owned track in Austria.

Hopefully with the loss of the Indy MotoGP, more fans and sponsors will support the lone Austin Texas MotoGP and Laguna Seca California World Supertbike rounds, helping them survive and be profitable.

MotoGP™ to return to Brno in 2016 and beyond
August 16th - MotoGP™ rights holder Dorna Sports SL reached a deal with the Czech authorities in order to secure the Czech GP presence on the FIM MotoGP™ World Championship calendar for at least the next five years. A joint effort of the Moravian government and the city of Brno will lead to the creation of a new body acting as the promoter of the event and working alongside Dorna Sports towards MotoGP™ return to the iconic Czech venue in 2016 and beyond.

Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports, declared: "The Czech GP is one of the highlights of the Championship as it's been on the calendar for 50 years and as we see this weekend again, it's a very popular event. We are very happy to reach an agreement with the Czech authorities that will ensure the future of the Grand Prix in the Czech Republic for at least the next five years."

Czech ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, Katerina Valachova, commented: "We're proud to announce that Brno will host MotoGP again in 2016 and the four following years, thanks to the creation of a new public body involving the Meridional Moravia Government and the City of Brno."

The first Czechoslovakian Grand Prix was held at Brno in 1965, on the original 13.94 km long road circuit. The current circuit was first used for grand prix racing in 1987 and hosted the Czechoslovakian GP through until 1991.  Brno did not appear on the calendar for 1992, but the event was revived in 1993 as the Grand Prix of the Czech Republic and has taken place every year since.

Tom Sykes and Chaz Davies Share Race Wins
Jonthan Rea, Kawsaki Racing Crowned
2015 SBK World Superbike Champion at Jerez

Jerez, Spain, Sunday, Sept 20th 2015
-Jonathan Rea (KRT) scored two fourth place finishes at Jerez today to take the FIM Superbike World Championship crown. After the second 20-lap race of the day Kawasaki was confirmed as Manufacturers’ Champion. Tom Sykes (KRT) won the first race of the day and finished fifth in race two.

Jonathan Rea realised he only needed six points from the Jerez weekend to make sure he won the title but in finishing fourth in race one he took more than he needed and win his first World SBK championship, with five individual races to spare.
These two races were the first times in 2015 that Rea had finished off the podium in what has been a remarkable season so far. His 12 races wins, 20 podiums and ability to score big points every time out gave him the edge that he and his official Kawasaki team used to such effect - from the first race win in Australia in February to his championship win in Spain in mid September.

Tom Sykes has now scored four race wins in the season so far, playing his full part in helping Kawasaki secure the Manufacturers’ Championship after the second race at Jerez. Tom had a typical front running success in the first race today, leading every lap and enjoying an impressive margin of victory of almost three seconds. Choosing a less than ideal tyre option for race two meant he led for ten of the 20 laps, but dropped back to fifth place.

Rea has grown his points total to 478 after Jerez. Race two winner Chaz Davies is second overall on 353 and Sykes has 331 points, in third. The next round will be held in Europe again, at the Magny-Cours circuit in France, on October 4th.

Jonthan Rea 2015 SBK World Superbike Champion action race photo

JONATHAN REA (Rider Kawasaki Racing Team): “This is an amazing moment for me in my career because I started schoolboy motocross when I was six years old, spending time at race circuits with my father and growing up in a racing environment, so I always dreamed of being world champion. So to finally be here and be world champion is incredible. There has been a lot of hard work from myself, sacrifice and dedication from my family, but most of all this championship would not be possible without Kawasaki. I want to thank both my team manager Guim Roda and Steve Guttridge from KME, who really believed in me and gave me this opportunity. Right now it has not sunk in. When my mechanics were putting the number 1 sticker on the bike out on track it felt really strange but I am just so happy and grateful for this opportunity. There have been many ups and hard times. Moments like this are even more special because of the challenges I have faced with injuries, a broken wrist and a bad fracture of my femur. When I watched the 2002 World Championship between Colin Edwards and Troy Bayliss I got so much inspiration from this it became my dream. It became like, ‘I have to do this.’ So even in tough times I never doubted my ability. Finally we are here today so hopefully this can also inspire some other young riders to start, or for young riders who are already racing to never give up on their dream. Right now it still does not feel real but I am world champion and I am really proud.”

TOM SYKES (Rider Kawasaki Racing Team):
“Overall I am fairly satisfied because we have never won at this circuit, so considering the whole season today is fairly acceptable. We struggled in race two and perhaps chose the wrong front tyre in that race. It was the same as race one and even in race one I did not have a good feeling with the front. But when you win with that margin at a circuit you have never won at before it’s is still good. I think if we had changed the front tyre we would have had a much different bike to compete for race distance. It is great to be part of Kawasaki winning the Manufacturers’ Championship. Obviously the majority of the points have come from Jonathan but I think that over the years I have helped create an environment and package that helped all the riders who have contributed toward Kawasaki’s first Manufacturers’ title.”

The opening race of the Pirelli Spanish round of this year’s eni FIM Superbike World Championship has been won by Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team), the former champion notching up his 60th WorldSBK career podium finish as team mate Jonathan Rea sealed his first World Title by finishing fourth after an early race fight with rival Chaz Davies (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati SBK Team) who eventually finished 2nd. Sykes dominated after leading from the start easing away to take his 26th race win.

Not wanting to risk a mistake, Rea was overhauled by Michael van der Mark who showed some real speed on his Pata Honda, the Dutchman claiming his 3rd podium of the year ahead of the new World Champion and Leon Haslam (Aprilia Racing Team – Red Devils) who was in contention despite a lowly 11th position grid slot.

Michele Pirro (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati SBK Team) finished a credible 6th ahead of Voltcom Crescent Suzuki’s Alex Lowes, Matteo Baiocco (Althea Racing), Leon Camier (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) and the outgoing champ Sylvain Guintoli (Pata Honda World Superbike Team) who completed the top ten.

Jordi Torres made life difficult for himself, the Aprilia Racing Team – Red Devils rider running off track at the start. Rejoining he ended the opening lap in 18th before eventually finishing 12th 4 seconds adrift of compatriot David Salom (Team Pedercini) who had the accolade of being the best placed Spanish rider.

The final points finishers were Roman Ramos (Team Go Eleven), Leandro Mercado (Barni Racing) and Ayrton Badovini (BMW Motorrad Italia). Niccolò Canepa (Althea Racing Ducati) was running a strong fourth in the early stages before losing the front of his Ducati Panigale at Turn 6. The Italian, fresh from his first front row start was able to rejoin proceedings – he eventually finished 17th.

SUPERBIKE RACE TWO
Chaz Davies (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati SBK Team) went one better than in race 1 to win the second race of the day at a very hot and sunny Jerez Circuit in Spain. Unlike the opening encounter, Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team) was unable to break away after taking the holeshot for the second time. Despite stretching his advantage in the early stages, the Race 1 winner was passed with ten laps to go as his tires overheated and lost traction, allowing Davies to catch and pass him with Chaz grabing his ninth win of his career, the fifth of 2015 and the fourth in the last six races.

Torres Action photo.jpgJordi Tores (81) leads the battle for 2nd position in Race 2 ahead of team mate Leon Haslam and newly crowned champ Jonthan Rea.

The race pace was slower this afternoon, as expected because of the increase in track temperature, with Davies pulling away in the second half of the race to win by 1.840s from Jordi Torres, who made amends for his race 1 and edged his Aprilia Racing Team – Red Devils team mate Leon Haslam at the line.

Fresh from winning the 2015 Superbike World Championship title in race 1, Jonathan Rea took another fourth position aboard his Kawasaki ahead of Sykes, who seemed rider one who suffered the most in the hotter conditions. The top 6 was completed by Matteo Baiocco (Althea Racing Ducati) ahead of Michele Pirro (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati SBK Team), who had another solid race to finish seventh.

8th to 10th positions were taken by Leon Camier (MV Agusta Reparto Corse), Sylvain Guintoli (Pata Honda World SBK Team), who had his 150th WorldSBK race start, and Leandro Mercado (Barni Racing). Niccolò Canepa finished eleventh after starting on the front row aboard his Althea Racing Ducati with David Salom (Team Pedercini) in twelth place.

Michael van der Mark crashed his Pata Honda out of the podium fight with five laps to go. The Dutchman was however once again in contention until he lost the front at Turn 9. He rejoined to salvage  three points with 13th at the flag.

14th was Ayrton Badovini (BMW Motorrad Italia), with the final point taken by the youngest competitor Christophe Ponsson (Team Pedercini Kawasaki). Alex Lowes (Voltcom Crescent Suzuki) was given a ride through penalty after pulling into the pit lane after a lap, a disappointing end to his weekend after a strong showing in Race 1. By finishing 4th and 5th in Race 2, Rea and Sykes give Kawasaki its first Manufacturer Title.

The WorldSBK riders will return to the track tomorrow for a one-day official test at Jerez, which can be followed via Live Timing and through regular updates on WorldSBK.com.

Jonathan Rea: 2015 eni FIM Superbike World Champion
An undeniable talent seals an indisputable world title.

Jerez, Spain, September 20th, 2015 - The Pirelli Spanish Round has gone down in history as the WorldSBK race meeting at which Jonathan Rea was crowned World Champion of 2015. The British rider, standard bearer of the Kawasaki Racing Team, clinched the ultimate goal in Race 1 courtesy of his fourth position. He has been pursuing the title since his first full campaign in 2009.

Rea first mounted the all-conquering Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R at MotorLand Aragon on 17 November 2014, supported all the way by Team Manager and former rider Guim Roda. The Northern Irishman arrived in Malaysia at the start of August already with a mathematic chance of claiming the title, despite three rounds still remaining of the 13. After Race 1 at Jerez, he has now won 12 races this year and picked up 20 podium finishes from the first 21 races. He is chasing Doug Polen’s 1991 record of 17 race victories in one season, which can now only be equalled.

ince the inauguration of WorldSBK in 1988, Rea is the third rider to win the crown on a Kawasaki motorcycle. The first was American Scott Russell in 1993, while the next was Rea’s current team-mate Tom Sykes two decades later. Rea has also become the first different World Champion in as many years (with the last five titles having been sealed by Carlos Checa, Max Biaggi, Tom Sykes and Sylvain Guintoli) and the fifth British World Champion after Carl Fogarty, Neil Hodgson, James Toseland and the aforementioned Tom Sykes.

Although Rea’s raw talent has never been questioned over the past six seasons, it wasn’t until the 28-year-old from Ballymena rode the green bike that his maximum potential could be extracted. All the while off the track, the humble Briton has remained a professional, unassuming human being, rider, husband and father. He currently resides on the Isle of Man.

The coveted crown in his hands, the new number one faces the rest of the season with copious amount of convince, fully aware of the many goals he can still achieve and the fact that Jonathan Rea is the 2015 eni FIM Superbike World Champion.

Rosemond, CA -April 24-26th 2015 - The annual Corsa Motoclassica was first run 20 years ago at
Willow Springs Raceway in Rosemond, California, just down the road from Edwards Air Force Test Base in the Mojave Dessert. It was the child of Yoshi Kosaka of Garage Company, a Los Anegles based motorcycle used bike and parts store and restoration shop specializing in classic street and race bikes. The Corsa Classic at Willow Springs gave Yoshi's customers a place to bench race and ride their beloved classic race bikes at speed, and could be called the West Coast's version of the Barber Motorsports Festival in near Montgomery, Alabama.       Continued Here

2015 MotoAmerica Season Final at New Jersy Motorsports Park

Reigning Champ Josh Hayes Wins Superbike Both Races
But Beaubier Takes the first MotoAmerica Superbike Title

Josh Herrin takes Supersport Finale

MILLVILLE, NJ, SEPT. 13 - Cameron Beaubier and Josh Hayes both knew what they had to do coming into the MotoAmerica season finale at New Jersey Motorsports Park. Hayes knew he had to go out and win both races, then sit back and see how his young teammate Beaubier responded to the pressure. Beaubier knew he had to at least finish second in the first race so he could take away some of that pressure in race two. Turns out Hayes did his part and Beaubier did his. The end result was Hayes taking his ninth and 10th victories of the season in Sunday's two races while Beaubier finished second and third to earn the 2015 MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North America Superbike crown.

Hayes Beaubier race action photo

Hayes' two wins kept Yamaha's unbeaten season alive in the 2015 season with his 10-win total combined with Beaubier's eight wins on the Monster Energy/Graves Motorsports R1 keeping the brand perfect in MotoAmerica's debut season of racing. In winning the Superbike title, Beaubier became the 20th different rider to earn an AMA Superbike crown.

Davies and the Aruba.it Racing - Ducati Superbike Team score their fifth SBK win of the season!

Jerez de la Frontera (Spain), Sunday 20 September 2015 – fantastic results for Chaz Davies and the Aruba.it Racing - Ducati Superbike Team in the Jerez World Superbike races; having reached the podium in race 1, in second position, the Welshman put together a faultless race 2 to achieve his fifth win of the season! Michele Pirro completed two good races, crossing the line in sixth and seventh place.

Race 1 – from sixth on the grid, Davies got away very well, moving straight into third place. Chasing down the Kawasakis ahead of him, the Welshman reached and passed Rea on lap seven to take second position. In the second half of the race Chaz was able to increase his pace but unfortunately it was not enough to reach race leader Sykes, meaning that the Aruba Ducati man crossed the line in second position.
Pirro, seventh on the grid, held that position throughout the opening laps. In the first half of the race, the Italian struggled to close in on his rivals on the new tyre but, thanks to a significantly quicker pace in the second phase, he caught up to Haslam and Rea, immediately ahead of him, to cross the line in sixth position.

Race 2 – once again Chaz quickly got into a good rhythm and was lying second through the opening stages. He did well to fight off the advances of the chasing pack and, thanks to his extremely strong pace, was able to pass Sykes to move into the lead on lap eleven. Gradually increasing his lead while effectively managing the final phase of the race, the Aruba Ducati man crossed the line in first place, with an advantage of almost two seconds. This marks his fifth win of the 2015 season, thanks to which he consolidates second position in the overall standings.
For Pirro, the second race was more difficult. In order to prevent the front of the bike from moving around so much, a harder front tyre was selected for this second race but unfortunately this resulted in a more dramatic loss of grip in the afternoon’s higher temperatures. Michele nevertheless maintained a constant pace which allowed him to conclude in seventh position.

With only two rounds left to run, Chaz Davies continues to hold second position in the overall standings, with 353 points, while Michele Pirro has earned points enough (35) to place twentieth. Ducati maintains second position in the manufacturer’s standings with 408 points.

Quotes after the races:

Chaz Davies (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati Superbike Team #7) – 2nd, winner
“What a second race! I thought it would be very difficult to win here today but we did well not to change anything from race 1; the track conditions were very different and it went better. In race 1, I knew that I’d have trouble in the early stages. I was able to match Tom’s pace in the second half but I expected a drop in his tyre performance that never arrived. I’m very pleased with today’s results of course and it’s really important to have taken good points at this stage of the championship. I know the battle for second in the overall standings will be tight and I hope it goes to the wire in Qatar.”

Michele Pirro (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati Superbike Team #55) – 6th, 7th
“In race 1 I didn’t go to badly but hoped to be able to do better in the second. We changed the front tyre for race 2, opting for a slightly harder solution but unfortunately it didn’t perform as we’d hoped. I had no grip at the front and it was all I could do to keep the bike upright and get to the end of the race. A pity, as I would have liked to do more but I thank the team for having given me the opportunity and for all their hard work this weekend.”

Stefano Cecconi – Team Principal
“We’re really pleased with today’s results, a further confirmation of the fact that the work completed this season, particularly in the second part, by the riders and team has continued to take us in the right direction, allowing us to fight consistently for race wins. We are proud of the partnership with Ducati that has, already during this first season, given Aruba a strong return in terms of image and visibility.”

Serafino Foti – Team Manager
“To start again after the summer break and repeat the results of the last round is truly fantastic! This confirms our strength and rewards the work of the entire team and racing department, thanks to which Chaz had a really high-performing bike today. He did the rest and really deserves this result, having demonstrated his ability to interpret the race perfectly. Conditions were very difficult today due to the high temperatures. I also want to thank Michele who, as usual, has done a great job, providing us with precious data for the future. Unfortunately a different front tyre choice in race 2 penalized him but he did well to manage the loss of grip.”

TWO APRILIAS ON THE PODIUM AT JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA
JORDI TORRES FINISHES SECOND In RACE2 AHEAD OF LEON HASLAM

LORENZO SAVADORI JUST ONE POINT FROM THE TITLE IN THE SUPERSTOCK 1000 FIM CUP
Jerez, 20 Sept 2015 – The Superbike weekend at Jerez de la Frontera ended with to Aprilia RSV4 machines on the podium.
In Superstock 1000 FIM Cup just one point separates Lorenzo Savadori and his Team Nuova M2 Aprilia from the championship title after taking third in the race today.

In Superbike home town hero Jordi Torres, who started the race from the second row, had some difficulties braking in Race 1 from the first laps, ending up in the middle of the pack and having to settle for a twelfth place finish. Leon Haslam made a great comeback, starting from the twelfth spot on the grid and crossing the wire in fifth place.

In Race 2 the Aprilia Racing Team – Red Devils riders got off the line well when the lights went out, with Jordi in third and Leon in fifth. Without pushing too hard on a boiling hot track, they maintained a consistent pace looking after their tyres carefully. This was a factor which, from the midrace point on, allowed them to overcome their adversaries until moving into second place for Jordi Torres, followed by team mate Leon Haslam. There was no lack of excitement in the final moments with Leon braking hard in an attempt to overtake, an unsuccessful but highly spectacular move.

Jordi Torres: “I’m very happy about the result in Race 2. I really wanted to do well here at home. The team worked perfectly and I gave 100% every time I went out on the track. From about midrace on I had to change my riding style a bit to accommodate tyre wear. With this heat it was very difficult but in free practice we worked on the settings precisely in consideration of this problem. In Race 1 I got off the line well but in the first turn I shifted into neutral and ran on. I tried to recover but I just didn’t have the right feeling with the front brake and I had to settle for collecting some championship points.”

Leon Haslam: “The conditions in Race 2 helped us out. We worked to solve yesterday’s problems and we were successful. If I was sure after FP3 that I could win, after Superpole I would have been happy with a podium, given my position on the starting grid. I managed to get off the line well and come back in both races, but in the first I was struggling coming out of the slow turns. In Race 2 we corrected this problem but the podium still wasn’t easy since after 9 laps the tyres had already begun to deteriorate and it would have been easy to make a mistake. I’m pleased with this podium. I hadn’t been there since Misano and having two Aprilias up there is well-deserved satisfaction for the team.”

Pata Honda's Van der Mark impresses with Spanish podium
Michael van der Mark took the third podium of his rookie World Superbike championship season today, taking his Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP to third place in the first race of round 11 of the series at Jerez in Spain. The race was won by Tom Sykes.

Starting from fourth place on the grid, van der Mark dropped a position going into turn one but never lost touch with the leaders. By mid-race, the 22-year-old had passed Jonathan Rea, who finished fourth to secure the 2015 World Superbike championship title.

It was van der Mark’s first podium since he doubled up at Assen in the Netherlands in April and in this afternoon’s second race he looked to be on his way to another double podium. He had fought his way up to fourth place and was challenging Leon Haslam for the final podium position when he crashed unhurt at turn six.
Van der Mark was able to right his lightly-damaged CBR and re-join the race, matching the lap times of eventual winner, Chaz Davies. The Dutch rider finished in 13th place to consolidate seventh place in the overall championship standings.

Pata Honda team-mate Sylvain Guintoli, meanwhile, was unable to match the pace of van der Mark in today’s two races. The French rider finished 10th in race one and 9th in the second 20-lap outing at the 4.423km Jerez circuit.
The Pata Honda team will remain at Jerez for a one-day official test tomorrow before heading back to the workshop in the Netherlands to prepare for the penultimate round of the season at Magny-Cours in France on 2 October.

Michael van der Mark, 3rd and 13th - “All weekend I’ve had some difficulties with the clutch, so the start in race one was not perfect. I managed to stay with the guys even though I was missing some grip at the beginning. As the pace dropped a little I was able to close the gap but I had to wait a little more before I could pass Leon [Haslam] and Jonathan [Rea]. I tried to close the gap to Chaz [Davies] but the grip was not there. Race two was a little bit similar at the beginning and I closed the gap to the front as the pace began to drop. I had a good feeling when I got to the back of Torres and Haslam so I was holding back a little bit because I saw they were pushing really hard. Then I just lost the front in a slow corner and crashed. I was able to get back on and do some good lap times before the end of the race and I think overall I must be happy with the performance this weekend. We finally had a weekend without problems and that’s really good for my motivation, and of course the podium is great motivation for the whole team.”

Sylvain Guintoli , 10th and 9th - “It’s been a difficult Sunday. I thought we could have done a bit better than this, to be honest, but it was a bit of a struggle. I was trying really hard in the races and maybe that wasn’t the best thing. I just lost my mojo a bit and didn’t feel comfortable. The feeling was not good and the pace wasn’t there so it’s been a very difficult Sunday. We need to have a sit down to put it back together. Hopefully it will be a different story at Magny-Cours; it’s a track I really like and I want to finish the season strongly so I’ll reflect on what happened here and why I was so slow and try to understand how to pick it back up.”
